The seasons are changing, time to start think about winterizing your home, watch out for areas that are under water due to recent heavy rains.
The Monthly Post General Membership Meeting is the 2nd Thursday of every Month and starts at 6:30pm. The Post Canteen usually opens 1 hour prior to all Chiefs and Royals televised games, and several local colleges and associated events. The Post hosts Friday Night at the "V" every Friday with Canteen specials and the VFW Memorial Kitchen serving food 6:00pm-8:00pm with Karaoke the 1st and 3rd Friday of the Month.
The VFW Post 56 Riders is just one of our volunteer groups. The riders are constantly paying tribute to fallen comrades, doing charity rides, and supporting local events. The Riders meet the last Tuesday of the month in the hall. Schedule is subject to change based on missions, hall rental, or holidays.
The Canteen is a non smoking establishment and family oriented. The covered back deck is heated in the winter and cool in the summer. The canteen has a game room, which has been newly renovated and now has 3 dart machines and a big screen TV. We have six dart teams at the VFW and we are looking for more people who want to throw darts. Happy Hour is from 5-7.
Coming home doesn't mean the battle is over. With over 10 times the amount of veterans lost to suicide than to combat operations in the same time period, there has never been a more important time to TAKE A STAND and DO something to support our veterans!! If you or someone you know is suffering from PTSD, we have people that have shared a similar experience and are ready to help.
...we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.
WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War, Persian Gulf War, Kosovo, War in Afghanistan, War in Iraq, War on Global Terror and other Peace-Keeping Expeditionary Campaigns throughout the globe.
The willingness of America's veterans to sacrifice for our country has earned them our lasting gratitude.
A man's country is not a certain area of land, of mountains, rivers, and woods, but it is a principle and patriotism is loyalty to that principle.
